Steps to Turn Off Account in Yahoo Mail Account

  1. On your computer, open a supported web browser and go to the Yahoo Mail sign-in page. Now, log in to your account.
  2. Once you are logged in to your Yahoo Mail account, you will need to click on your profile name located on the top-right corner of the screen. A drop-down menu will appear on your screen.
  3. From the drop-down menu, you will need to click on the Account info You will be directed to the Account info section of your Yahoo Mail account.
  4. Once you are on the Account info section, you will need to select Account security option from the left-hand side panel. You will be directed to the Account security section of your Yahoo Mail account.

NOTE: You may be prompted to enter the password of your Yahoo Mail account to get access to the Account security section.

  1. In the Account security section, you will need to click on the Manage option next to the section where it says “Yahoo Account Key is enabled”. A small window will appear on your screen.
  2. In the window that appears on your screen, you will need to click on the Slider button next to your registered device. As you will click on the slider button, you will be logged out of your Yahoo Mail account and will be directed to the Yahoo sign-in page. From here, you can sign in to your account using your regular password.

  1. Once you are logged in to your Yahoo Mail account, you will need to click on your profile name located on the top-right corner of the screen. A drop-down menu will appear on your screen.
  2. From the drop-down menu, you will need to click on the Account info You will be directed to the Account info section of your Yahoo Mail account.
  3. Once you are on the Account info section, you will need to select Account security option from the left-hand side panel. You will be directed to the Account security section of your Yahoo Mail account.
    1. NOTE: You may be prompted to enter the password of your Yahoo Mail account to get access to the Account security
  4. In the Account security section, you will need to scroll down and click on the slider button next to the Two-step verification option. This will open a new window on your screen where you will be prompted to enter a phone number.
  5. Enter a desired phone number in the provided field and click on the Send SMS button to receive a verification code on your phone number.

NOTE: You can also receive a verification code via call by clicking on the Call me button instead of Send SMS button.

  1. Then, enter the verification code in the provided field and click on the Verify Once your phone number gets verified, Two-step verification feature will be enabled in your Yahoo Mail account.
