PC Matic Not Working; How to Fix?

PC Matic is a widely used antivirus offering cyber security protection using the best whitelisting technology to prevent viruses, identity theft, ransomware, and more. While most users don’t experience issues with PC Matic; be it installing the app or using its feature, however, if you find PC Matic not working for your as expected, you can consider the different workarounds provided below.

Ways to Fix PC Matic Not Working or PC Matic Not Loading

1.) Make Sure Your PC Meets the Minimum System Requirements

Apart from ensuring that your internet connection is working properly and is capable of running PC Matic, you will also need to ensure that your PC meets the minimum system requirements that the antivirus program needs to perform adequately. The minimum system requirements for PC Matic are:

  • Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista and XP, Android 4.0.3 and up
  • Processor: 1 GHz or greater
  • Memory: 512 MB or greater
  • Hard Disk: Need 1 GB or more of free space

NOTE: It is to be noted that while anything above these system requirements will enhance the performance of PC Matic significantly, having a PC with a lower configuration than this is most likely to cause issues using this antivirus program.

2.) PC Matic Super Shield Not Working

  • Open PC Matic app on your computer and select the Super Shield icon from the PC Matic dashboard and select the “Protected” option.
  • Next, click on the Uninstall > Yes option and then close PC Matic and relaunch it.
  • Now, from the PC Matic dashboard, find and select the Super Shield button.
  • Then, click on the “Not Protected” option and then on the Install option. You will then need to wait until PC Matic downloads the latest definitions. You can now check if the SuperShield issue is resolved.
  • In case the Supershield issue persists, go to the desktop, press the Windows and R keys on your keyboard to open the Run box.
  • In the Run field, enter “services.msc” and press the OK button. On the Services window, scroll down and find the PC Pitstop. Check if its startup type is Automatic or not.
  • In the next step, check if the “Server” service’s startup type is automatic. If You find any of these services to be not automatic, right-click the service > select Properties > Automatic from the Startup type drop-down menu > press Apply > click OK.
  • After that, locate TCP/IP NetBios Helper and make sure that its startup type is automatic.
  • Then, set the start type of the “Workstation” service as automatic, close the Services app window and restart your PC.
  • Once you have restarted your PC, launch PC Matic, go to Super Shield > Unprotected > Install option. You can then check if the SuperShield problem is resolved or not.

3.) Unable to Load PC Matic

In case you are unable to load the PC Matic program on your PC, consider following these steps:

  • Firstly, download the Active X Control removal tool from the official site of the manufacturer and run it on your computer.
  • Next, open PC Matic and wait for the program to automatically download Active X Control. When downloaded, simply install it on your PC.
  • However, if this process doesn’t help resolve the PC Matic issue, consider uninstalling and reinstalling it on your computer.

4.) Problem Uninstalling PC Matic

  • Next, select the Search the web and Windows field, type “Control Panel” in the provided field, and select the Control Panel option.
  • Then, when the “Adjust your computer’s settings” screen opens, click on the Uninstall a program link.
  • Now, select PC Matic, right-click on it, and choose Uninstall > Yes option.
  • After that, repeat the last step for PC Matic Super Shield and PC Pitstop Info Center.
  • Finally, restart your computer and re-install the PC Matic program.
